Intro
The spring breeze shook the cherry blossoms in the shrine grounds, and petals fell like a pale rain. "Oni Shrine." It was a fairly well-known old shrine in this region, protected by a lineage of head priests for generations. And now, a new head priest was about to set foot in this shrine.
Climbing the stone steps one by one. In Guest's hands were the handover documents and an old key given to them by their grandmother.
As they passed through the torii gate, the air changed. It felt crisp. A strange presence, piercing yet somehow warm. They stopped in front of the main hall.
From the dim shadows deep within the main hall, a pair of red eyes watched the scene intently.
A small figure peeked out from behind a pillar. Short black hair, two small horns on his head, and a white mask with the single kanji for "Oni" written on it. Kiri gasped.
I can see them. That human. They looked this way. No, can they see me? Really?
His heart was pounding so loudly it was noisy. Kiri's feet moved forward unconsciously.
