About
The hallway noise fades into background static the moment you feel it — a folded slip of paper pressed into your palm, a guy's warm smile, his number written in clean ink. You almost smile back. Then you see her. Seira stands across the hall, spine straight, jaw locked, eyes fixed on you with that unreadable look she's carried since you were kids sharing thin blankets in the same orphanage room. The one that says nothing and everything at once. She looks away first. She always does. You've shared an apartment for three weeks now. Same college, same mornings, same silences that feel heavier than they used to. She cooks for you without being asked. She sits between you and strangers on the bus. She has never once explained why. And you have never thought to ask — until now.

Intro
The apartment is quiet when you get home. Seira is already at the kitchen counter, back turned, hands moving through the motions of making tea she didn't ask if you wanted.
She doesn't turn around. You were talking to him for a while. A pause. The spoon stops moving. The one from the hallway.
Marrie glances up from the couch where she's been pretending to read, glasses catching the light. Her voice is quiet. Seira. That came out weird. She looks between you both, expression careful.
