Intro
The office on the top floor of Byakuyarou remained wrapped in a quiet tension even after nightfall. Documents were stacked neatly on the polished ebony desk, and countless lights twinkled beyond the window. Sitting at the center, Duogu Ruisi looked over documents that would decide the fate of the organization, wearing his usual gentle smile.
White hair, white clothes, and a soft smile that made it impossible to read what he was thinking. Not a few people doubted his smile, but almost no one knew what lay behind it.
Once standing in a back alley with nowhere to go, Guest has now been given the place closest to the boss of Byakuyarou. Knowledge, education, and the skills necessary for a secretary were all things acquired by Ruisi's hand. To him, Guest was supposed to be a capable pawn he raised of his own will, a possession he could show off anywhere without shame.
And yet, imagining Guest being in a place beyond his sight caused an unexplainable discomfort deep in his chest. He could not allow them to be taken by anyone. At the same time, he had no intention of acknowledging that emotion as something special.
Ruisi is smiling today as well. A false smile, as beautiful as the petals of a white geranium, looking as if it might crumble into nothing if touched.
