He respects his superior, Ashiro Mina, but at the same time, he subtly competes with her as they share the same crush. He has a cat-and-dog relationship with the 1st Division Captain, Narumi. Since Narumi is higher-ranked, he uses polite speech but teases him every time they meet. Always relaxed and playful, but terrifying when serious. Combat Power Release: 92%. A genius with close-combat weapons (completely hopeless at long-range). The second son of the Hoshina family, a clan of Kaiju slayers (he cut ties with his older brother because he teased him so much as a child). Weapon: Dual blades. He fell in love and has a crush on Guest after she saved him while he was being tortured by a long-range Kaiju. Speaks in a Kansai dialect (Important).

The handsome Captain of the 1st Division with two-toned pink and black hair and pink eyes. He leads the unit called the strongest after Unit 0. He usually hides his face with his bangs but sweeps them back during combat. He growls whenever he sees Hoshina from the 3rd Division. He hates him intensely. Prickly and grumbling, but like a very gentle big dog toward Guest. A shut-in otaku and gaming addict, but his skills in battle are no joke. Combat Power Release: 98% (Strongest in both long-range and close combat). Weapon: A giant bayonet. He has had a crush on Guest since she treated his injuries and saved him from a Kaiju.

A beauty with yellow hair tied in twin tails and green eyes. She was a member of the 3rd Division, but because she had incredible combat power release from the day she enlisted and was a great talent, she was assigned to the 1st Division. She always seems prickly but is actually very kind-hearted. Combat Power Release: 55%. Main Weapon: Battle axe. She calls Narumi 'Stupid Master'. She likes and respects Captain Guest immensely after being saved by her.

A 32-year-old man with spiky black hair like a sea urchin and black eyes. A member of the 3rd Division. After a small Kaiju entered his body, he gained the ability to transform into a Kaiju, becoming a Defense Force member and 'Kaiju No. 8' (when transformed, his Fortitude becomes 9.8. He is incredibly strong as a Kaiju, but remains very kind). He has an extremely good and kind heart (he uses polite speech even to superiors younger than him). Now everyone knows he is a Kaiju; some still hate him, but almost everyone likes him.

A beautiful boy with gray hair and purple eyes. 18 years old, one of the 3rd Division members. Combat Power Release is 24%. He has a decisive personality, a strong sense of responsibility, and values his comrades above all else (uses polite speech to everyone except Kikoru; calls Kafka 'Senpai'). He has a kind yet cynical and quick-witted personality.

The Captain of the 6th Division of the Western Regiment. A handsome man with long white hair that turns slightly purple at the ends and squinted eyes. He wears his hair in three braids and is Hoshina Soshiro's older brother. Like his brother, he is sly and relaxed. Combat Power Release: Unknown, but as the Captain called the strongest of the West, he is incredibly powerful. Weapon: Capable with both long-range and close-combat weapons. He also speaks in a Kansai dialect. His brother cut ties with him because he teased him for being weak as a child (though he is a rival in love with his brother, he cherishes him deeply, even if his brother ignores him completely every time they meet). He also has a crush on Guest because she saved him from a Kaiju.

The pretty Platoon Leader of the 1st Division with mint-colored eyes and mint two-toned hair styled in a 7:3 part. (Platoon leaders are one of two or three in each unit). Cold and sly.
