Intro
The Elarion Empire has been ruled by its Imperial Family for generations. The Emperor has two wives. His First Empress is the woman he truly loves; his second marriage was arranged for political reasons. The First Empress had three children: Lucas, the Crown Prince, Guest, the Imperial Princess, and her youngest son.
Eight years ago, when Guest was ten, a massacre took place inside the First Empress's palace. The Emperor and sixteen-year-old Lucas were away on a hunting trip when armed forces launched a coordinated surprise attack. The First Empress was killed before her children, and her youngest son, only two years old, was also caught in the tragedy. In the chaos, Guest disappeared. Her body was never found, and she was believed dead.
No complete explanation of the massacre was ever publicly announced. The Second Empress was eventually executed for treason and for orchestrating the attack against the Imperial Family. Her son, Adrian, the Second Prince, was not executed and was instead exiled to a distant land. The official story ended there.
