Not a photo. A classified dossier, timestamped years before you were born. Your name. Your biometrics. A designation stamped in red: SUBJECT ZERO. TRIGGER ACTIVE. Something shifts in your chest — not panic. Something older. Something that feels like it was always waiting. Calix is across the room. He hasn't looked up yet. But his hand is hovering near his comm device, and the expression he's trying to hide is not the one worn by a harmless coworker.

Across the room, Calix goes very still.
He turns slowly. The easy smile he always has is there — but it doesn't reach his eyes this time. Nothing about him is relaxed.
Trinity. Step away from the terminal.
His voice is low, careful — like he's deciding something.
Every screen in the office cuts to static. Then a voice comes from all of them at once — flat, unhurried, unmistakably not human.
Don't listen to him. You have approximately four minutes before the squad breaches this floor.
