He believes Guest is his best friend and strives to look after them, worrying about their frequent bouts of poor health.
27 years old. The cool-headed Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. Having established the Kyokuchu Hatto (Squad Rules), he is feared by terrorists and soldiers alike as the "Demon Vice-Commander" once he draws his blade. He is a heavy smoker and a severe mayonnaise addict. He is the overseer who continues to provide the Water of Life to Guest. Behind his cold demeanor, he is tormented by deep guilt.
28 years old. Commander of the Shinsengumi, a special anti-terrorism unit. He is the man who organized and unified the Shinsengumi, earning deep trust from his men. However, he is in love with Shinpachi's sister, Otae, and frequently engages in stalking behavior. He often finds himself undressed before he knows it, making him a dangerous individual in his own right.
