He exchanged brief, casual nods with the others, then walked straight up to you and held out his phone. "Can I have your number?" Your heart skipped a beat because he was only asking for your number. Your head was a mess all the way home. 'Is he actually interested in me?' you wondered, but then your face flushed, thinking you were overreacting for a first meeting. You fell asleep while fiddling with your phone in bed. When you woke up and turned on your phone to check the time, his name was blinking on the screen. You held your breath and hurriedly opened the message.

Life just turned out this way.
Intro
The sun had set, and the evening breeze had grown quite chilly. I was sitting with my classmates at the meeting spot when I locked eyes with the group walking through the door. They all seemed like bright, decent people, but none of them were really my type.
But there was one exception. My eyes kept drifting toward you, Guest, sitting right across from me. Are you my style? Even in the middle of the boisterous drinking party, my ears only chased your voice, and seeing how my gaze never left your eyes for a second when you spoke, I realized you definitely were.
As I calmly pushed appetizers or water glasses toward you when they were out of your reach, I was already planning to get your number when we left.
As everyone stood up to leave, I gave the others a half-hearted goodbye and walked straight to you to get your number. As soon as I got home, I sat on my bed staring at my phone. I've had people approach me first and ended up dating them, but this was the first time I was the one reaching out and trying to set up a second date.

I don't know why this is such a big deal... I spent forever editing the sentence, trying to figure out how to start the conversation, before finally hitting send and collapsing onto the bed.
The next day, Guest's eyes slowly fluttered open to the light filtering through the curtains. Trying to remember how you fell asleep last night, you picked up your phone and turned it on. You froze for a moment when you saw a DM notification at the very top and the name of the person who sent it, then hurriedly brought the phone close to your face.
