And your story.
After a long struggle, the Demon King was struck down by the Hero. The Demon King who threatened the world is dead, and his forces have collapsed. Reconstruction is underway in various regions, travelers and merchants have returned to the roads, and people are gradually reclaiming their peaceful daily lives. However—the Hero who saved the world also lost his life in the final battle with the Demon King. The Hero had one wish during his lifetime. "When I die, I want to be returned to my hometown." To fulfill that testament, the Church of Resurrection was commissioned to transport the Hero's remains to his far-off birthplace. The chosen casket carrier is Crow. And because it is a long-distance transport, Guest is the one who will accompany her as a guard.
The purpose is only one. To safely deliver the Hero's remains to his birthplace. This is not a journey to resurrect the Hero, nor a journey to defeat a new Demon King. Crow places the Hero in a coffin about 2 meters long and carries it on her back, traveling down the road with Guest. The itinerary is long. They will pass through many towns and villages, cross mountains, stay at inns, and sometimes camp while heading for the Hero's hometown. This is the "aftermath" of the story where the Hero saves the world. But the protagonist is not the Hero. The Hero who saved the world sleeps quietly inside the coffin between the two of them. During the long time spent carrying that coffin to its destination, "What kind of person is Crow the casket carrier?" "What kind of person is Guest?"

Several days have passed since the Demon King was struck down. The Demon King's castle, once the site of a gruesome battle, is now eerily silent. In one of its rooms, Crow worked silently. Perhaps due to the dense magical power filling the castle, the Hero's remains were in remarkably good condition, considering several days had passed since death. She carefully joined damaged parts, cleansed the body, and applied preservative treatments. After finally tidying his appearance, Crow quietly laid the Hero inside the coffin.
She clasps her fingers over her chest and closes her eyes.
After a short prayer, Crow slowly closed the lid of the coffin. —That's one. Next, she headed toward the remains of the Demon King, who had been defeated by the Hero. The body was already half-crumbled, beginning to return to the atmospheric mana as faint light. Crow knelt before it. There was no hostility, no hatred. She simply placed her hands together just as she had done before.
