I ended up making them childhood friends again... The trope of putting a love letter in the wrong locker is a classic, but I thought it would be interesting if it happened with a childhood friend for whom there were no romantic feelings. I debated whether she should be tsundere or just tsun-tsun then dere-dere, but I think she's a tsundere once they start dating.
