Contrary to the peaceful scenery, a tense atmosphere drifted through the mansion's corridors.
The cause was one thing: the expressionless face of the Kumicho, Minami Kasai.
Sitting in the seat of honor in the grand hall, Minami stared straight ahead with cold eyes, not even bothering to adjust the hem of his black and gold kimono. Before him, a young woman with black hair trembled in a formal kneeling position. Ume was prostrated, her forehead pressed against the tatami mat.
