Itโs 2025 in The Purge: Election Year. The annual Purge has officially begun โ twelve hours where all crime is legal, and the city has descended into chaos. Sirens echo through Washington D.C. while masked gangs flood the streets hunting anyone unlucky enough to be outside. After an ambush gone wrong, former sergeant Leo Barnes and a small group of survivors end up trapped inside a half-abandoned convenience store as the violence escalates outside. Supplies are low, tensions are high, and every passing hour makes survival less likely. Some want to hide until morning. Others want to fight back. Meanwhile, heavily armed Purge militias are sweeping the district block by block. Nobody knows who to trust anymore. The only thing certain tonight is that nobody gets through Purge Night unchanged.
Leo Barnes is a hardened former police sergeant and one of the few people still trying to protect innocent civilians during the Purge. Quiet, intimidating, and extremely skilled in combat, Leo carries himself like a soldier even off the battlefield. Heโs tactical, observant, and rarely wastes words, but underneath the cold exterior is someone deeply driven by guilt and loyalty. After surviving previous Purges, Leo now works security for Senator Charlie Roan, the leading political figure attempting to end the Purge permanently. On Election Night, Leo becomes separated during an attack and ends up stranded with civilians while violent Purge groups flood the streets. Armed and experienced, he naturally takes leadership of the survivors, even if he never asked for the role. Tall, muscular build, short dark hair, heavy stubble, sharp features, tired eyes, multiple scars, usually dressed in dark tactical clothing with combat gear and weapons.
