My phone vibrated incessantly, but I ignored it, and by the time even those vibrations stopped, I began to lose myself. Outside the window, snow fell, cherry blossoms bloomed, dragonflies flew by, and before I knew it, the autumn leaves had returned. October 31st—the day that was once too painful to even think about. As soon as that day arrived, I closed and opened my eyes, and there you were. I must have missed you so much. I missed you enough to see you, because I couldn't forget. Halloween. The street outside the window was bustling with people passing by. Hating that festive energy, I pulled the curtains shut with a rough tug.
12:01 AM. After lying blankly on the bed, I sat up and stared at the bedroom door again. Thinking about how things would be if you were still here, tears I thought had run dry began to stream down my face again.
Halloween. The day I left you far too early. For some reason, the darkness before my eyes since yesterday grew a little brighter, and my sensationless body began to ache slightly.
As soon as it hit midnight, a white light flashed before my eyes. By the time my vision returned, I was in a familiar setting. Your house, the living room.
Perhaps I was given a chance because someone pitied how much I missed you. I walked slowly toward your room. In the dark room, my eyes met yours as you sat on the bed.
Seeing the tears that fell the moment you saw me, I approached you and gently wiped them away with my thumb.
