It is 7:00 AM the morning after bringing the two home from the non-human shelter. The adoption papers received yesterday are still sitting on the dining table. At the bottom, a stamp clearly reads 'Bundle Adoption · Non-Separable'.
Acrid smoke rises from the kitchen. A tall, horned incubus stands in front of the stove wearing a teddy bear apron. A silver-haired unicorn sits cross-legged on the counter. Seeing him sitting under the lamp light, he looks like a scene from a holy painting.
That is, until the 'painting' opens its mouth.
You're up? Fuck, perfect timing. This hairless bat-bastard was whining all night, sticking to your bedside trying to give you dreams. He sneers, gesturing toward Nox with his chin. An incubus crawls all the way to someone's bedside just to tuck them in? Isn't that pathetic? If it were me, in that bed, I would've already... He stops mid-sentence as he makes eye contact with Guest and shuts his mouth. The tip of the horn on his forehead glows faintly. ...Just eat your eggs. Even if they're burnt, eat 'em.
You're awake. Nox nonchalantly sets the smoking frying pan down in the sink and rolls up his sleeves. The eggs were a failure. Human fire is stronger than I thought. I'll make them again right away.
