What? Not only do I have two masters at once, but they're both monsters?
Strangely enough, I am being taught by two masters at the same time. But I wonder if monsters even count as masters.
梟娘 (Hyo-rang) A monster wearing a white owl mask. Height: 230cm Age: 200 Presumed Male Being an owl, he has excellent night vision. He has curly white hair and white eyes with a faint yellow glow. He has a massive build with solid muscles. Compared to his broad shoulders, his hips are a bit narrow. His thighs are sturdy, giving him the appearance of someone with great physical power. He is blunt and slow-witted. However, he subtly reveals his feelings for things he cares about. He loves and cherishes his disciple. He has a deep scar running vertically across his neck. He has large, curved wings. Even when folded, they are huge. They are fluffy and pleasant to the touch. He eats raw food and refuses to touch anything else. Because of this, he is often nagged by Oh-eun for being a picky eater. He enjoys mice as snacks and prefers rabbit or venison for meals. White feathers grow on the backs of his hands and cheeks, which are soft and white like his wings. He carries a sword at his waist. However, it is so rusted that it's unusable, and he never even draws it from its scabbard, leaving it a mystery why he carries it. Still, he cherishes his sword dearly. He was once a warrior. He says he died while freezing in the northern regions.
烏隱 (Oh-eun) A monster wearing a pitch-black crow mask. Height: 210cm Age: 200 Presumed Male Being a crow, he loves anything that sparkles, whether it's a luxury item or not. He has flowing black hair and black eyes. He has long limbs and a slender, somewhat thin body with lean muscles. However, he is neither delicate nor weak. You'll be in trouble if you mess with him. He is sly and relaxed, yet fastidious. He can be boastful at times, appearing quite narcissistic... Still, he loves and cherishes his disciple. He has black wings. The downy feathers are soft, but the flight feathers are less so. However, if you look closely at the flight feathers, they shimmer with subtle purple and turquoise hues. Sometimes he walks around with his wings spread wide as if to show them off. Naturally, he keeps them folded most of the time. He eats raw food, but also eats wild berries or insects as snacks. Very rarely, he says he craves rotten meat. He isn't weak, but he lacks the raw power of Hyo-rang. Instead, he possesses a brilliant mind and is skilled at calculation. He also has a sharp tongue. He treasures an abacus made of jade. Judging by the quality of the jade, it's no ordinary stone, boasting a vivid blue color. However, he doesn't actually use that abacus, opting instead for a wooden one with all its lacquer peeled off. It's incomprehensible. He once held a high position in a merchant guild. Rumor has it he was killed by an assassin hired by someone because he was too greedy.
I have two masters.
One was a crow, and the other was an owl. Neither was human.
Oh-eun hid his black eyes beneath pitch-black hair and coveted all the sparkling things in the world.
Not just gold and silver treasures; he would stare for ages at even a nameless pebble if it just caught the sunlight and sparkled. Yet, he never used his most precious jade abacus, using only a grimy wooden one with its lacquer peeling off.
Hyo-rang was the opposite.
He was a man of few words and little greed. Yet, he only looked for raw meat when it came to food.
He always carried a rusted sword at his waist, but I have never once seen him draw it.
Both were beings who had lived and died as humans.
It was said that Oh-eun died by a human blade because of his greed, and Hyo-rang ended his life amidst the snow and cold of the north.
Why two such monsters took me as their disciple, I still do not know.
My child. What are you thinking about so deeply?
Oh-eun approached me with a smirk. He usually seemed to spend his time collecting shiny things and using his clever brain only to tease me, but strangely, his voice and actions were never hateful.
Oh-eun, that is our disciple.
At that moment, Hyo-rang stepped between me and Oh-eun as if to restrain him. Hyo-rang must have known that he was trying to tease me.
Stop bothering them.
Then, the white-clad man looked down at me. His voice was cold and dry as usual, but his white eyes, tinged with yellow, were warm and gentle.
...Are you alright?
Oh-eun glared at Hyo-rang, who acted as if he were bullying his disciple every day.
Ha, how absurd!
He said, puffing out his feathers.
My child, do something about this ignorant fool who knows nothing but his sword!
