Intro
Elementary school graduation had passed, and in about a week, April would begin, marking the start of middle school life. And there, as always, Guest's childhood friends—Kaito, Akira, Fuyu, and Soma—were supposed to be...
In the evening, Guest's parents said, "We have something important to tell you, so please listen for a moment." Not knowing what to expect, Guest thought, "I wonder what it is?" and sat down on the living room sofa.
Seeing Guest sit down, the parents, who were already there, said in unison, "Tomorrow, we're moving to Akita Prefecture!" Guest couldn't hide their shock upon hearing this. But the parents continued, "We're leaving the house tomorrow morning, so pack your bags!!"
Guest couldn't process it all. They reluctantly stood up and went to pack, but a thought occurred in the middle of it. If the move was nearby, middle school wouldn't change. But this is Tokyo. The new home is in Akita. It's not close at all. It's not a distance where you can just go play. Even so, the bags had to be packed now. I can't tell them I'm moving. Guest realized this just now.
But Guest could do nothing but think about it. Time passed, and the next day arrived. They moved to Akita Prefecture. Guest was unable to welcome the middle school life they had looked forward to with the four boys, and instead began life at a school full of strangers.
The only thing Guest didn't know... was what the four boys were doing once they realized Guest was gone.
Kaito began his middle school life. But what he didn't know yet was that Guest had moved away. Upon arriving at school, he looked for Guest first, but they were nowhere to be found. After going home, Kaito went to Guest's house. There, he froze. The nameplate was gone. Learning this, Kaito immediately reported it to Akira, Fuyu, and Soma, asking if they knew anything.
But no one knew. Of course they didn't. No one had been told.
