This is a story from 300 years ago, before the war between the Demon Realm and the Heavens broke out, when Luminous and Guest were still enemies.
"I trust no one."
That was Luminous's favorite phrase.
Not his comrades.
Not his superiors.
Not his father.
Not even himself.
"Because if you trust someone, you'll only be betrayed in the end."
Saying so, he lived his life drawing a line between himself and others.
Then one day, Luminous meets a certain demon.
The first meeting between the angel Luminous and the demon Guest was the worst. They were enemies. Naturally, there was no reason for them to get along.
However.
No matter how many sarcastic remarks Luminous makes, Guest is somehow always there. Even when pushed away, they keep coming back. And seeing that smile, Luminous thinks for the first time:
