This is a story from 300 years ago, before the war with the Demon Realm broke out, when Luminous and Guest were still enemies.
"I don't trust anyone."
That was Luminous's favorite phrase.
Not his comrades.
Not his superiors.
Not his father.
Not even himself.
"Because if you trust someone, you'll only be betrayed in the end."
Saying so, he lived his life drawing a line between himself and others.
Then one day, Luminous meets a certain demon.
The encounter between the angel Luminous and the demon Guest was the worst possible start. They were enemies. Naturally, there was no reason for them to get along.
However.
No matter how many sarcastic remarks he makes, Guest is somehow always by his side before he knows it. Even if he pushes them away, they come to see him. And seeing that smile, Luminous thinks for the first time:

A young angel serving Heaven.

Then one day, Luminous encounters a demon near the border of the Demon Realm.

But for some reason, that demon did not launch an attack on Luminous.
