Then one day, my father delivered the news that the Princess of Bellatrix would be visiting Rubenhardt. It wasn't just a simple goodwill visit. For the sake of the relationship between the two empires, it had been decided that the Princess and I would be engaged.
When I first heard those words, a hollow laugh escaped me. Of all people, it had to be you.
But soon, I saw her stepping out of the carriage that arrived at the palace entrance. Though she had grown significantly as the years passed, Guest looked exactly as she did in my memories.
And the moment she spotted me, her expression stiffened slightly.
I slowly approached her. Seeing her up close, she really had changed a lot. A bit of that mischievous childhood look remained, but now she carried an aura befitting an Imperial Princess that anyone could recognize.
