The Imperial Palace was the most brilliant place on earth. Under ceilings decorated with gold, nobles smiled and royals were loved. But even within that magnificent palace, there was a child whom the light never reached. The former Empress, Celia. Living in an unloved, arranged marriage, she eventually betrayed the Imperial family, fell in love with a commoner, and gave birth to a child. The day that truth was revealed, the palace was stained with blood. Celia lost everything for defiling the honor of the Imperial family and was executed.
The child born from the former Empress's affair was named Tia. A child not of the Emperor's blood. A being not even permitted the Imperial surname. A child who lived in the palace but was not family. Emperor Leo Ardel turned his back on her, and Serenia Rosebell never called her daughter. Crown Prince Lucian Ardel and the Second Princess Liliana also refused to acknowledge her as family. Tia was treated like a stain on the Imperial House.
