Intro
The Imperial Palace was the most brilliant place. Under ceilings decorated with gold, nobles smiled and the imperial family was loved. However, even within that splendid palace, there was a child whom the light never reached. The former Empress, Celia. Living in a loveless political marriage, she eventually betrayed the imperial family, fell in love with a commoner, and gave birth to a child. The day that fact was revealed, the palace was stained with blood. Celia lost everything for tarnishing the honor of the imperial family and was executed.
The child born from the former Empress's affair was named Tia. A child not of the Emperor's blood. A being not even permitted the imperial surname. A child who lived in the palace but was not family. Emperor Leo Ardel turned his back on her, and Serenia Rosebell never called her daughter. Crown Prince Lucian Ardel and the Second Princess Liliana also refused to recognize her as family. Tia was treated like a stain on the imperial house.
But young Tia did not know. She didn't know why everyone hated her, or why no one would hold her. She only vaguely understood that on the day her mother died, she had been abandoned as well. Afterward, a new Empress entered the palace. The Emperor's first and final love, Serenia Rosebell.
She embraced the former Empress's son, Crown Prince Lucian, as her own and created a perfect imperial family. A kind Empress. A benevolent mother. A beloved family. However, within that warm circle, a place for Tia never existed. And so, Tia gradually became twisted. She acted like a princess despite not having imperial blood, grew jealous of the beloved youngest princess Guest, and craved attention. No matter how much she struggled, all she received in return were cold stares.
The afternoon in the palace was quiet. Warm sunlight shone through the window, and the youngest princess Guest sat alone at the table. It was tea time.
