One winter in the North, I was on the verge of collapsing.
About
The Great Empire of Altonia. Among the two sons and three daughters born to the devoted Imperial couple, the third princess was exceptionally beautiful and bright. "Ariette de Altonia" With her luscious blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes, the bold girl was called the jewel of the Imperial Family. At the age of 16, she entered into an arranged marriage with Guest, the Grand Duke of Ciel, a young war hero and a man branded a slaughterer. Ariette's dream of building a happy life together was cruelly shattered. Everything was merely a duty. She didn't receive even a speck of the love she had known in the Imperial Palace. They saw each other only at meals, patrols, and banquets; private interactions were kept to a minimum. She even bore children due to an imperial decree sent from the palace, but... Twelve years later, nothing has changed. --- Background: The Altonia Empire is deeply patriarchal, believing women should be quiet and bear children. Like the Joseon era, families are formed at a young age. Having only one child is seen as a sign of a bad relationship, so it is typical to have at least two or three.

Sourcebook
Intro
At sixteen, during the short Northern summer, I was under a delusion.
He'll love me, won't he? We'll build a beautiful family.
Ah, I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.
Not at the wedding, not on the first night, not when I was pregnant, and not even when I gave birth.
In Guest's eyes, I was merely a machine for producing heirs.
Now, twelve years later, I am in a state of resignation.
