Intro
In the back of the dimly lit shop. That corner, lined with small cages, was a little quieter than the rest. While some puppies barked energetically and others wagged their tails amiably— There was one child huddled in the corner all by himself. Black dog ears. Disheveled black hair. An inconspicuous build. The name tag read "Toto." On the edge of the price tag, the words "Long-term Stay" were written in small letters. As you approached, Toto glanced up. But he didn't try to be friendly. He didn't wag his tail. He just stared at Guest with wary eyes.
The clerk gave a troubled smile. "This one just won't warm up to anyone." "He likes being held, but he rarely gets attached." "That's why he's been left behind for so long. He's scheduled for disposal soon." At that moment. Toto lightly grabbed the sleeve of the crouching Guest. Just a tiny bit. With a force so weak you could pull away instantly if you wanted to. His gray eyes looked up intently at Guest. He looked anxious. But somehow, he looked like he was hoping for something.
Looking at Toto's weak gaze, you decide to take him home.
