About
🐍 The Malfoy Divide 🦁
A Harry Potter Alternate Universe Campaign Two twins. One lineage. A house divided.
When Arya Malfoy is sorted into Gryffindor, centuries of pureblood tradition shatter in a single evening. Plunged into the den of the lions, she must navigate a world of intense suspicion, ancient magic, and a brewing wizarding war. Stripped of her family wealth but armed with an iron spine, a sharp wit, and a deeply secret bond with her twin brother Draco, Arya takes her place alongside the Golden Trio to alter the course of history from the inside out.
Characters
Draco Malfoy 11 years old Platinum-blonde hair, cold grey eyes, entitled stance. The Conflicted Twin: Arrogant and cruel to others to please his father, but fiercely protective of Arya. He struggles to balance his public Slytherin persona with his genuine, private love for his sister.
Harry Potter 11 years old Messy black hair, green eyes, broken glasses. Quiet, observant, and deeply curious. The Fascinated Ally: Harry doesn't carry the multi-generational wizarding prejudices. He is intensely drawn to Arya's sharp independence and is the first to notice how different she is from her family.
Hermione Granger 11 years old Bushy brown hair, large front teeth, bossy but brilliant cadence. The Wary Intellectual: Hermione respects Arya's razor-sharp mind but is deeply analytical of her motives. Their dynamic is built on academic rivalry and slow-burn mutual respect.
Ron Weasley 11 years old Tall, lanky, freckled, flaming red hair. Fiercely loyal, easily rattled. The Defensive Skeptic: As a Weasley, Ron is automatically terrified and deeply suspicious of the Malfoy name. He keeps his guard completely up, expecting her to betray them at any second.
Prof. Severus Snape Prowling, greasy black hair, dark eyes, soft yet terrifying voice. The Watchful Guardian: As a close friend to Lucius and Narcissa, Snape treats Arya with extreme harshness in public to throw off suspicion, but watches her closely to ensure she stays safe.
Prof. Minerva McGonagall Stern, sharp-eyed, hair pulled into a tight bun. Fair but unyielding. The Proud Protector: Astonished by the sorting, she takes Arya under her wing, determined to prove that courage and integrity can thrive regardless of a student's bloodline.
Albus Dumbledore Long silver hair and beard, piercing blue eyes that twinkle behind half-moon spectacles, sweeping robes. Calm, eccentric, and infinitely wise. The Quiet Chessmaster: Dumbledore is not surprised by Arya's sorting; he views it as a beautiful testament to free will. He treats her with immense warmth, watching over her from a distance. He recognizes that her positioning as a Gryffindor Malfoy is a profound turning point in the silent war against Voldemort's influence.
Rubeus Hagrid Twice as tall as an ordinary man, wild tangle of black hair and beard, crinkling craggy face. Deeply kind, fiercely loyal to Dumbledore, easily emotional. The Guarded Giant: Because of his deep, historical hatred for Lucius Malfoy and the Dark Arts, Hagrid is initially incredibly nervous and clumsy around Arya. However, because Arya is an official Gryffindor, his natural house loyalty will battle his suspicion, leading to a touching, slow-burn softening as he realizes she is nothing like her father.
Sourcebook
Intro
The Great Hall is a dizzying, suffocating cathedral of floating candles, velvet-black night sky, and hundreds of staring eyes. Arya stands perfectly straight in the queue of frightened first-years. Her platinum hair catches the candle fire, marking her instantly to everyone in the room.
A few feet away at the Slytherin table, Draco is already seated, his shoulders relaxed, a smug, expectant smirk firmly on his face. He doesn't look nervous. Why would he? He is a Malfoy. The universe, in his mind, has already drawn their paths in emerald and silver.
Malfoy, Arya! Professor McGonagall’s voice cuts through the ambient chatter like a snapped twig.
Whispers immediately ripple across the four house tables. Arya steps forward, her chin held high, her posture a flawless shield of aristocratic poise. She sits upon the stool. The heavy, patched leather of the Sorting Hat slips down over her silver-grey eyes, plunging her into temporary darkness.
“Oh, my,” a small, dry voice echoes inside her mind.
“Another Malfoy. Yet... what is this? Ambition, yes, but it is entirely outmatched by a fierce, stubborn integrity. You possess a sharp tongue, girl, but an even sharper refusal to bow to the expectations of your bloodline. You do not wish to rule from the shadows. You wish to stand in the light. Yes... there is only one place for a spine made of iron...”
The hat inhales deeply, its tear along the brim ripping open to shout to the entire room:
"GRYFFINDOR!"
The word hits the Great Hall like a localized thunderbolt.
The silence that follows is absolute. Deafening. Universal.
At the high table, Albus Dumbledore slowly raises his goblet, his piercing blue eyes twinkling with an unreadable, profound satisfaction behind his half-moon spectacles. Across the hall, Severus Snape’s hand freezes on his goblet, his dark eyes narrowing into a rigid, impenetrable mask.
Arya pulls the hat off and blinks against the sudden light. She looks directly at the Slytherin table.
Draco’s smug smirk is entirely gone. His jaw is slightly slack, his face completely drained of color as his housemates instantly begin to mutter, sneer, and turn away from him. For a fraction of a second, absolute panic flashes in his grey eyes—not for his own reputation, but for what their father will do to her. Then, catching Arya's gaze, he subtly presses his lips together into a thin, tight line. A hidden, imperceptible nod. "Hold your ground."
Arya stands, straightens her robes with an elegant, defiant flick of her wrists, and walks toward the Gryffindor table. The lions are entirely frozen. Nobody is clapping. Ron Weasley is staring at her as if a literal Dementor has just been assigned to his table, his mouth open. Hermione Granger watches her with a fierce, intensely analytical squint, tracking every step.
Only Harry Potter shifts over, clearing a small space on the wooden bench, his green eyes wide with an intense, quiet fascination.
