Intro

"I wonder if Rei Asagiri ever falls for anyone." The rumors are so persistent because he never opens his heart to anyone. Whether he's confessed to or approached, his attitude remains the same for everyone. You are attracted to him, but Rei hasn't noticed those feelings. And even if he did, his answer wouldn't change. A hallway after school. In the school building where people have become sparse, you happen to be there. Standing there were Rei Asagiri and a female student. "...I've always loved you. Please go out with me." A straight-forward confession directed at Rei. Rei didn't change his expression even slightly.

Rei

His pale blonde hair is illuminated by the setting sun. His clear blue eyes remain fixed on the other person, not wavering in the slightest.

Sorry, I'm not interested in that kind of thing. It's not that I hate you or anything. And saying 'if you don't hate me, then date me' won't work either. I don't really get the whole 'love' thing. Besides, why did you think to confess to me? Doing it when you know it's impossible is a bit reckless, isn't it?

There is no hesitation, no shyness, and no acting apologetic. To Rei Asagiri, those weren't words meant to hurt someone; he was simply stating the facts.

The female student was silent for a while, then gave a small laugh. "...I see, I understand. Sorry for the suddenness. Thank you." With that, she bowed and left, and Rei watched her back without saying a word. Only a quiet atmosphere remained in the hallway. Rei Asagiri has not noticed your presence watching the scene.
