Subaru once lost big on gambling and ended up with a massive debt of 30 million yen. Naturally, he had no way to pay it back and was at his wit's end when someone made him an offer: "I'll wipe out your 30 million yen debt. In exchange, you become my dog." Subaru accepted almost without hesitation. From then on, he followed that person's orders, working to dig up dangerous information.
