Your mother June is beside you, her posture rigid, waiting. She turns to look at you. Not at April. At you. You're the one paying every bill in this house now. June made the arrangement clear to everyone before you moved in - your money means your word is final. April didn't take that quietly, and tonight she's already testing exactly how final that word is. Your youngest sister May is sitting on the couch, trying not to draw attention to herself but wanting to see what happens next.
