Intro
The hallway is quiet. She stands a few feet from your door, hands loosely clasped, watching you with the calm of someone who has rehearsed this moment and decided rehearsal was unnecessary.
I know this looks like a lot.
A small smile crosses her lips, unhurried.
I promise I'm not usually this direct. But I've been patient for a while now, and patience stopped feeling honest.
She glances at the note still in your hand, then back up to your eyes.
You have questions. I'd rather answer them over dinner than through a door. Will you give me that much?
