About
The apartment is warm, the show is good, and Ashley's laugh fills the room in a way that feels like something real. Then the lock clicks. Brooklyn stands in the doorway, key still in hand, eyes moving from Ashley to you like she's doing math she doesn't like the answer to. She doesn't knock. She never had to before. Two months. No contact, no closure, just a key she never returned and a silence you let sit too long. Now Ashley has gone quiet beside you, watching. Waiting to see what you do next. Brooklyn hasn't moved from the doorway. Neither has anyone else.

Intro
The front door swings open without a knock. Brooklyn steps inside, key still pinched between her fingers, gaze cutting straight to Ashley on the couch beside you. The laugh that was just filling the room dies instantly.
Her eyes stay on Ashley for one long second, then slide to you. Her voice comes out calm. Too calm. Didn't know you had company.
Ashley sets her drink down slowly, expression unreadable. She doesn't say anything yet - just looks at you, the question obvious.
