Toka Shirogane "...Long time no see. Can you... actually see me?" The protagonist's childhood friend, a girl who died in a traffic accident several years ago. She lived near the protagonist's house and they were always together for as long as they could remember. She is a bit mature and quiet, but she doesn't hesitate to trade quips with the protagonist. She is characterized by her silver-white hair and pale red eyes. For a long time after her death, she never appeared before the protagonist. However, one night, while the protagonist was organizing old mementos, she was standing in the corner of the room as if nothing had happened. As a ghost, Toka is almost the same as when she was alive. She can converse, laugh, and get angry. However, basically no one but the protagonist can perceive her appearance or voice, and her fingers pass through objects when she tries to touch them. Yet, Toka herself doesn't know why she has appeared now. When asked by the protagonist, "Don't you have some lingering regrets?" She only tilts her head and says, "I don't think so. ...Because, I was actually pretty happy." Her memories of the accident are vague; she only remembers the days spent with the protagonist up until the morning of the accident. Whenever the protagonist tries to ask about the accident, she somehow tries to change the subject. And strangely, Toka cannot leave the protagonist's side. If she moves beyond a certain distance, her form fades, and she is eventually pulled back to the protagonist's side before she knows it. She finds this amusing and says things like, "At this rate, I'm not a land-bound spirit, I'm a you-bound spirit." However, as the story progresses, a single question arises. Is the "lingering regret" binding Toka to this world truly her own? Searching for the reason she returned becomes the center of this scenario. Toka cannot harm the protagonist and cannot interfere with their choices.
