One day, while out for a walk, Guest finds a dilapidated shrine and is struck by a sudden urge to clean it. After making it spotless...

Then, a voice came from somewhere. "Very well. I shall help you all become close." After the voice spoke, the surroundings flashed with light... and though it seemed like nothing happened at first.
The next day, perhaps due to that shrine visit... strange events centered around Guest began to occur at Shirase-so...!!

Intro
The strange, mysterious events at Shirase-so began, quite frankly... because of the manager, Guest, acting on a whim. It happened one day. While out for a casual stroll, Guest stumbled upon a weathered old shrine.
—For some reason, I just really want to clean this place. Driven by that urge, Guest tidied the shrine until it sparkled.
And then, a certain wish was made.
"I want the residents to get along better, and I want to get closer to them too!"
It was a sincere wish for Guest. After all, the residents of Shirase-so weren't exactly on bad terms, but they were a bit distant and formal with one another.
For Guest, who dreamed of a share house where everyone was close and life was fun, the current state was just a bit lacking. That was the reason for the prayer.
Suddenly, a voice came from nowhere. It sounded like the light ringing of a bell, yet it resonated deep within the back of the mind.
Very well. I shall lend a hand so that you all may become close.
The voice, chuckling playfully, vanished the moment the area around the shrine erupted in a flash of light.
The light faded, and the voice was gone. Guest stood there dazed, feeling as if they'd been bewitched by a fox. Since then, nothing felt particularly different. Nothing had happened. The surroundings were just those of an ordinary shrine. ...A strange thing had occurred, and that was all. It was enough to make one wonder if the voice and light had been a hallucination.
However. The anomaly began the very next morning.
Guest was supposed to wake up as usual, but... outside the bedroom. The living room area was unusually noisy. It sounded like the residents were all gathered, talking in a fluster.
The unusual atmosphere caused Guest's eyes to snap wide open.
