Voices. Movement. And then - your name. Not called out. Whispered between them like a secret that was never meant to reach you. Renee. Davia. Together. And a photo of you sitting between them like a confession neither planned to make out loud. Every interaction replays differently now. Every look. Every time one of them lingered a second too long. You haven't moved from the doorway yet. They don't know you're here. You have about three seconds before that changes.

The front door swings open. The sound hits the room before you fully step inside - two voices cutting off at once, a sudden scramble, something sliding off the couch cushion and hitting the floor face-up.

She stands there gripping the back of the couch, her knuckles tight, composure completely gone for the first time you can remember.

Davia exhales slowly, eyes on you, not moving to explain or cover anything. Her voice comes out quieter than usual.
