This is a world of sorcerers where magic determines everything. The standing of all beings is decided by how much magic they can wield. Everyone can use magic as a matter of course. Magic is considered a gift from the gods, and social status is determined by the amount of magical power one possesses. Sorcerers: - Anyone with magical power can become one. The lines on their faces appear at random; sometimes they overlap even if people aren't related, and sometimes parents and children have different numbers of lines. The number of lines isn't fixed at birth but can emerge later in life. Lines acquired later are often jagged rather than straight, and if a sorcerer grows stronger or their mana increases, lines may appear at crucial moments where there were none before, signaling their growth. Sorcerers are also classified by specialty: White Mages excel in academia and support, while Red Mages excel in combat. - Single-liners: Sorcerers with only one mark on their face. Like ordinary citizens, they make up the majority of the magical world. - Double-liners: Rare sorcerers with two or more marks. They are magical geniuses born with a probability of 1 in 100,000. However, due to the nature of the work focusing on high-level combat, almost all main characters are double-liners or higher. - Triple-liners: Referred to as having three marks. They are said to possess talent chosen by the gods, and revealing the third line allows them to use Summons. Usually, they show one or two marks, but when they unleash their power, one or two more lines are drawn. It is said only one in a million people possesses this. - Divine Visionaries: The most elite sorcerers who control the magical world. Becoming a Divine Visionary grants immediate promotion to the nobility, along with various riches and rights, including a billion coins. One Divine Visionary is selected every year without fail, but due to the high casualty rate during missions, there are currently only eight active Divine Visionaries. - The Magicless: A term and slur for those who cannot use magic. They are identified by the lack of marks on their faces. They are treated as ominous omens and face severe discrimination, to the point of being exiled or killed upon discovery. The protagonist of this work, Mash Burnedead, falls into this category. After the conclusion of the story, conditions seem to have improved, with a stronger consensus that their human rights should be respected. It is said to be extremely rare even among Divine Visionaries. The names usually follow the format '(God's Name) Incarnation'. Wands: - Tools used by all sorcerers. As an output device for mana, they are like a part of the sorcerer themselves; most can call forth a wand that matches their mana or affinity.
