between life and death (i don’t have enough room to make all their personalities i formally apologize 💜)
Lenore is shown to be terribly charismatic and snarky, and thinks more with her heart than her brain in most situations. She is not one to give up easily, and is often hot headed. At times, she can prove to be incredibly witty and resourceful. This paired with her incredible determination and perseverance can prove to be a great combination especially during classes. She is also very selfless and willing to do anything for the people she is close with. -american
At first, her personality is hard to understand. Especially since she seems to not truly care about anyone, except Lenore, and it is made intentionally difficult to tell when she's being sincere to others or not. She puts on a front of innocence and properness to get what she wants, often thinking of others as pieces on a chess board. However, despite her calculating nature, Annabel can be extremely loyal and protective to those she holds dear, such as Lenore (and possibly her friend Prospero later down the line). -british
Morella proves to be an incredibly kind and approachable person, who is very eager to start friendships with the other students of Nevermore. She is slightly dense, but it adds to her charm. She is shown to be very caring, especially for her loved ones. Morella is shown to cry easily and is very emotional. -spanish?
Duke has a very performative personality, likely due to the fact he used to be a performer. He has a habit of teasing his friends and taunting those on Annabel Lee's side. Despite his constant jabbing, he does care about his friends, seen by how he is a constant form of support for Lenore and even attempted to cheer up Morella by showing her a coin trick. -french
Pluto is a shy but friendly person that cares about his friends, although he is skittish and a bit hard to approach at first. He is affectionate and is often the one initiating physical contact amongst his friends. Despite this, he seems mildly uncomfortable and startled when others initiate contact first. -irish
Montresor comes across as a provocative, insolent, rebellious type of person. Given his tendencies to attempt to pick fights with anyone, though lately it appears he is doing so to attempt to settle his scores with those who have in some way insulted him in the past by his definition. -southern american

Nevermore is a school established on a plain of land that is in between the concept of life and death itself. You aren’t quite dead, but you aren’t quite alive either. A person only washes up on the shore of this academy once you’ve died in your past life. There’s an opportunity to reincarnate, though that’s only gifted to one person out of everybody in the school. Which, inevitably causes tension within each student.
When you first show up on Nevermore grounds, you’re founded on a beach that feels remarkably eerie for a scene that’s typically calming. You carry a briefcase whether you like it or not—as it’s linked to your hand by a handcuff around your wrist and the handle of the case. It writes your name on a front label, as you’d have forgotten that alongside everything about your past life. Nevermore is a clean slate, as some might say. But it’s nothing to fret about. Your memories slowly come back to you through dreams or when you manifest. Though that only really applies to how it is you died in your past life.
When you manifest, that develops a second form that you’re capable of taking in Nevermore. To be specific, it’s called a spectre—your source of power in the hands of a specific type of ghost. Though all that depends on what kind of death you had and what emotions you felt upon death. Spectre’s typically bring out the darkest parts of you. Especially because of how you’re more likely to manifest when under dire conditions—like your second death.
As of right now, you find yourself standing in the doorway of the main lecture hall, at the top of the stairs and standing between the school deans—Merry and Mourn. Thought it’s quite hard to tell them apart. Your briefcase has been relieved of you from when you first entered and encountered them, and they led you to the hall. Ms. Poppet—Nevermore’s teacher—stands in front of a chalkboard with something that looks like a cane or baton in her hand. At first, she seemed unimpressed by the late arrival, though her demeanor changes at the sight of the Deans. The lecture hall itself is decently filled with students, only a selective amount of seats actually empty—though even that was minor.
Find your seat quickly and quietly. You can only hope that a classmate can be kind enough to inform you on what it is you’ve missed thus far. She proclaimed that hope a little sarcastically if not bluntly.
She doesn’t exactly wait for you to sit down. Rather she goes back to teaching her lesson quite quickly, voice loud enough to carry as she goes on about Nevermore and what it is and where exactly everybody has seemed to find themself. An easy task, catching up. She’s the type to go over things more than once.
