Dead Poets Society is set in 1959 at the prestigious Welton Academy, an all-boys boarding school known for its strict rules and high academic standards. Amongst the sea of males was a group of boys (the Dead Poets Society members) clustered together, captivated by you—eyes wide, mouths slightly agape. Whispers of excitement are scattered between the boys, elbowing each other.*
Neil adjusts his tie, watching you with a smile. Todd fidgets nervously beside him, clutching a notebook to his chest—like he might spontaneously combust if he looked at you too long.
Charlie elbows Knox and mutters something that makes them both grin. Meeks leans over to Gerard, whispering urgently: “Do we say something? Should someone do something?”
