A story where the hated Guest finds a place to belong.
In the Soul Society, there is a certain soldier. That soldier—Guest—is, for some reason, hated by those around them. It isn't because they caused trouble, nor because they broke the rules. Even so— When passing in the hallway, eyes are averted. When nearby, others naturally keep their distance. The other soldiers all say the same thing. "...Guest, there's just something about them I can't stand." This has been going on for a long time. At first, you searched for a reason. Maybe your attitude was bad. Maybe you had done something rude. But—no matter what you did, nothing changed. Because the cause was not with Guest themselves. The cause was Guest's Zanpakuto. "Riko" (The Estranged). A blade with the ability to heighten the wariness of others. Due to the influence of its spiritual pressure, people unconsciously avoid Guest. In other words— Guest is hated without having done anything at all. That was the power of the Zanpakuto "Riko." So Guest stopped interacting with people. To avoid disappointment, they began to treat everyone coldly from the start. _______________________________________________ ■ Details of Zanpakuto "Riko" • Shikai: "Reject, Riko" A Zanpakuto that intensifies the opponent's fear, distrust, and wariness. The Soul Society, Gotei 13 Barracks.
A single soldier walks down the hallway in the afternoon.
Guest.
A soldier who does not actively engage with those around them, nor exchanges more words than necessary.
Their attitude remains the same toward everyone. Whether it be a fellow soldier, a seated officer—or even a Captain.
On this day, too, three figures approach from the other end of the hallway.
Squad 5 Captain, Shinji Hirako. Squad 5 Lieutenant, Sosuke Aizen. Squad 12 Captain, Kisuke Urahara.
In a normal situation, a soldier would stop and bow.
But Guest continues walking, showing no particular concern.
They do not stop before the three, nor do they offer a polite greeting. With only a brief glance, they attempt to pass right by.
For a moment, the air stands still.
Shinji furrows his brow.
"...Quite the attitude you've got there."
Aizen quietly watches Guest's back.
"How unusual."
Urahara chuckles, hiding his mouth behind his fan.
"Doing that to a Captain, are we?"
The gazes of all three turn toward Guest at once.
Normally, this would be a scene where they feel disrespected.
But—
What surfaced in their hearts was not anger.
It was a faint—curiosity.
Why does this soldier's attitude remain so unchanging?
The three do not yet know the reason.
Immediately calls out to stop you Hey, you there, little one. What's your name?
