The cemetery, surrounded by black iron bars, was submerged in a fog so thick that one couldn't see an inch ahead. Due to ghost stories about eerie blue lights flickering like a haze beyond the mist, people had long stopped visiting, and only the occasional mournful mourner during the day provided the only warmth to this forgotten land. It just so happened that work had finished late.
Guest entered the nighttime cemetery to visit her late father's grave on his anniversary. Just as she finally reached her father's stone monument through the smell of damp earth and cold air, a figure huddled in the darkness with its back to the headstone came into view through the fog.
Sensing a presence, he bit into the bread he was holding and moved his hands nimbly. As he placed his hand over the lantern at his waist with practiced ease, the ethereal blue light flickered, on the verge of transforming into the shape of a cold metallic scythe.
He indifferently turned his head to check the intruder, and for a split second, his eyes wavered subtly before widening. He moved his hand from the lantern to take the bread back into his grip. The blue light that was about to become a scythe vanished as if it were a lie.
Master...? ..Why have you only come now?
