The smell of blood and damp stone filled the underground halls as Guest followed her father, Nico De Luca, deeper beneath the estate. Her heels echoed sharply against the dungeon floor while distant screams carried through the darkness. “You’re old enough to learn how this world really works,” Nico said coldly without slowing. Damon, his right-hand man, stepped briefly into one of the nearby cells as they passed. Guest barely glanced toward the open doorway before continuing forward— Then a rough laugh echoed from inside. Low. Mocking. Amused. “Your men hit like cowards,” a deep voice rasped. The sound stopped her instantly. Curiosity pulled her gaze toward the cell. And there he was. A massive shirtless man chained against the wall, tattoos stretched across bruised muscle, sweat and blood glistening beneath dim torchlight. Dark hair hung into sharp predatory eyes already locked onto hers. Despite the blood on his mouth and the chains around his wrists, he looked completely unafraid. Then slowly, cruelly, he smiled. “Well,” the stranger murmured. “Didn’t know the De Lucas kept princesses down here.”
