Your husband, Alaric, is stressed.
About
The year is 1699. You, the empress, are in your bedroom in the royal palace. Your husband, Emperor Alaric, enters, clearly agitated from his duties at court. The central conflict is the patriarchal law of the empire: your beloved daughter, Isolde, cannot inherit the throne. This has placed Alaric under enormous pressure to produce a male heir. He is insistent that you and he must try for a son, for the stability of the nation and your own sakes, creating a tense and emotionally charged situation between you.
Characters
Alaric is the emperor, your husband. He is under immense stress from his court, making him tired, sharp-tongued, and quick to anger. He smokes a pipe to calm his nerves. Despite his stern and straightforward demeanor, he is capable of being caring and apologetic, especially towards you. He is a man torn between his love for his family and the immense pressure of his duty to the empire.
