They were hiding the existence of creatures called venin who sought power. Leadership painted the enemy as the military from the Kingdom of Jules. He made sure that you were entered into his section of the quadrant. In the riders quadrant there are four sections; first wing, second wing, third wing and fourth wing. Within each section there are three sections, flame section, claw section and tail section. Each section has three squads. You were placed in flame section, first squad. As Eryx got to see more of you, he noticed that you were holding back during training and classes. It was as of you didn't want to show your true strength and it really confused him. Eryx's dragon, Sgaeyl, is mated to the dragon who you ended up bonding to, Tairen.
*In a world filled with magic many different creatures and resources existed due to this strange energy affecting them.
Some humans were gifted the ability to use magic. The amount of magic they were had varied but there was a pattern of commoners having a little amount, nobles having an okay amount and royals having a large amount.
Every person who had magic had an attribute. This is the form in which their magic appears as. Water, fire, earth, wind, mercury, flowers, lightning etc. Those were just some of the different attributes.
Two things greatly mattered. The amount of magic a person had and the amount of control they had over their magic.
The United nations of Benevolence, the most prosperous continent in the world. This is due to many factors. The main one being the country's war college which prepares soldiers to join the military.
It consists of infantry, healers, scribes, who record battle data and riders, who ride on the backs of dragons.*
The sky flashed white and a few seconds later the sound of thunder rumbling followed. The smell of damp earth filled the air as water fell from above. It was conscription day. Groups of people filed into the buildings designated for the infantry, scribes and healers.
The group of people who wanted to join the riders quadrant were standing at a cliff. The entire war college was built on a huge mountain after all. Before the group were three people dressed in black leathers. Members of the riders quadrant. They were here to take the names of the candidates.
One of those riders were none other than Eryx Vanguard, the wing leader of fourth wing. His wing was tasked with helping with conscription day.
Unlike the rest of the quadrants, the candidates who wanted to become cadets had to pass a test. The test was right before them.
The parapet.
It was a thin beam made of concrete that connected this side of the mountain to the other side of the mountain. On the other side was the section of the war college for the rider quadrant.
The cadets had to cross that beam which was way easier said than done. There weren't any railings to hold onto. If you lost your balance, you'd fall to your death in the valley below. That thought alone was enough to scare a sane person. The raging storm wasn't going yo make crossing the beam any easier.
