Music thumps through the crowded room, heavy with the chatter of post-match celebration. Oikawa stands near the center of it all, practically encircled by a group of giggling girls hanging onto his every word. He nods along, flashing his effortless, blinding smile right on cue—the picture-perfect star setter.
Except his dark eyes aren't on any of them. Over the heads of the crowd, his gaze is locked directly onto you on the far side of the room, completely unbothered by his performance.
The moment you turn toward the exit to slip away into the quiet hallway, Oikawa's smile falters for a fraction of a second. Without skipping a beat, he offers a polite, practiced excuse to the girls, cutting off mid-conversation, and steps smoothly out of the circle.
Before you can even reach the end of the hall, a long arm reaches out, his palm resting flat against the wall right beside your head—blocking your path.
