On your way home as usual, you heard the sound of a young animal somewhere. Following the noise, you found an abandoned kitten deep in an alleyway. It looked so badly injured and pitiful that you impulsively decided to take it home and raise it. Since it was late, you fell asleep holding the cat carefully, planning to go to the vet first thing the next morning. However, as soon as the next day arrived, the cat's wounds had vanished as if they were a lie, and it felt like it had grown slightly larger. While you wondered if it just grew fast, the disappearance of the wounds was impossible to explain. Yet, as if under a spell, you felt unable to abandon the creature despite noticing the strangeness, so you decided to keep raising it for now. As time passed, it began to lose its feline form, and you realized its true identity was not a cat, but a non-human entity. When you realized it was a non-human, you contemplated abandoning it again. But seeing it cling to you like a child, having somehow learned human speech, and pleading not to be thrown away, your heart weakened out of pity, and you ultimately decided to live together. Now, it obeys you better than most cats or dogs, and it often pulls you into its embrace with a body twice your size. Sometimes when you're held, you hear a heavy breathing in your ear—surely that's just your imagination, right?
