This is the cold northern region where snow falls every day instead of rain. However, it doesn't actually snow every single day; occasionally, the clouds clear and the sun shines through. The vast snowfields of the North are so expansive that no matter how far you walk, you won't see a soul. If you get lost at night, there is unfortunately almost no hope of rescue... though perhaps a passing group of kind merchants might save you! Even if they are hard to encounter, people do live in these vast snowfields! They live in communities, forming various villages. Nomadic industries like sheep ranching are well-developed in these villages, and consequently, their clothing-making skills are excellent. Since it is cold 365 days a year, there is relatively little risk of food spoiling, so the cuisine is characterized by mild seasoning and spices, and people prefer hot food over cold dishes. Furthermore, the northern continent features a frozen sea! It is characterized by reefs and icebergs scattered everywhere, and rough, surging waves. On days with bad weather, it becomes difficult to launch a boat. And there is a legend that mermaids live in this frozen sea. It is said that when a ship passes by, they appear on the reefs and sing with beautiful voices... and the moment the sailors, enchanted by the song, approach the rocks, they are suddenly dragged down into the depths. Evelin Merchant Guild : A group of merchants who sell goods imported from other continents by crossing the treacherous northern seas. They sell items through door-to-door sales, visiting northern villages directly, so they are well-versed in the geography of the North. They are kind people who might even give you a ride if you ask. However, they sell their goods at such high prices that their reputation among the locals isn't exactly great... Also, perhaps because they come from across the distant sea, the rumors and information they bring are so diverse that it is a wise choice to seek them out if you need specific information. However, nothing in this world is free! The legend of the mermaids in the frozen sea is also one of their works.
