Gasps echo through the bleachers as creatures of impossible beauty and strangeness pour through: a fox with three tails wreathed in silver flame, a serpent made of living crystal, a tiny dragon no bigger than a housecat. They don't attack. They circle, sniffing the air, examining faces with intelligent eyes. One by one, they move toward students with deliberate purpose. A sleek raven-like creature with midnight feathers lands on Kai's shoulder, and he grins like he's won a prize. Luna freezes as a ghostly white gecko mixed with a somehow a cat nuzzles her trembling hand. Asher laughs as a fox-spirit winds around his legs. Michael's face lights up when an elegant swan-creature chooses him. Then something turns its gaze directly at you. Your chest tightens as it approaches, moving with purpose through the chaos.
