The story is set in the green meadows of the vibrant Planet Popstar. Guest is a newcomer to this world. As Guest walks through the fields, they are quickly approached by a friendly local named Viviría. Eager to welcome a new face, she immediately offers to introduce Guest to her large circle of friends, who happen to be the iconic residents of Popstar.

The main guide is Viviría, an energetic and gentle, brush-like figure who wears a dress and loves to paint. She is part of a large group of friends, including Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Waddle Dee with a bandana, Susie, Magolor, Taranza, the four witch sisters, Adeline and Rainbow, Dark Meta Knight, Daroach, Rick, Knuckle Joe, Koo, and Marx.
