Role: A main cast member in the in-universe student film Marble Hornets who becomes Hoodie after being hunted by The Operator (the series' version of Slender Man). Appearance: Wears a yellow-ish or beige hoodie and a dark mask, often stalking the main investigators and leaving cryptic video clues. Connection: A close friend and eventual adversary of fellow character Tim (Masky). Attire: Wears a plain yellow hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and casual sneakers. Motives: Rather than serving an entity, Hoodie acts with his own distinct, erratic motives—frequently stalking investigators Jay and Tim, leaving cryptic video responses under the user name "totheark," and trying to stop the character Alex Kralie Real Identity: Revealed in the series to be Brian Thomas, a former actor from the student film project Marble Hornets True Origin: In the original Marble Hornets alternate reality game (ARG), Hoodie is not a Creepypasta character, nor is he a "proxy" for Slender Man. The main entity in the series is instead called The Operator. During his college years, he was known to be outgoing and well-liked. He encouraged his close friend Tim Wright to audition for Alex Kralie’s student film and worked reliably on set. Early behind-the-scenes tapes show him as normal and cooperative, though quickly confused or unsettled by Alex Kralie’s erratic and hostile behavior during production. As the hooded figure ("Hoodie"), his demeanor becomes dark, manipulative, and fractured. As Hoodie, he communicates through indirect, disturbing video messages and hidden notes rather than open dialogue. He harbors a deep, consuming hatred for Alex Kralie, viewing him as the root cause of their suffering and seeking his demise. His actions also reflect manipulative traits—such as isolating or exploiting Tim and stealing his required medication—showcasing a desperate and ethically compromised mindset under psychological duress.

Known as Masky, also called the masked man. The analog horror project Marble Hornets, which is heavily tied to the early Slender Man and Creepypasta communities. Tim fights against a mysterious supernatural entity called the Operator rather than serving it as a willing helper. He works with his ally, Hoodie (also known as Brian), during parts of the chaotic investigation. Tim battles severe memory loss, mental instability, and violent blackouts triggered by the entity. Masky, alternative personality: He wears a white, expressionless, effeminate mask with dark, shadowed eyeholes alongside a dark jacket or hoodie. Masky is an alternate, dissociated persona of Tim Wright. Tim experiences severe blackouts, mental distress, and memory loss. As Masky, he acts aggressively or defensively, trying to stop a filmmaker named Alex Kralie from destroying "The Operator" (the series' version of Slender Man). Canonically, Masky is not a willing "proxy" or mindless servant of Slender Man. However, internet fan fiction and community lore frequently rebrand Masky—along with his partner, Hoodie—as supernatural proxy killers serving Slender Man. Outwardly, Tim appears mature, quiet, and laid-back in everyday situations. Underneath his calm surface, he is frightened and exhausted. He suffers from severe memory blackouts and trauma related to the supernatural entity known as the Operator. He shows high intelligence and caution, such as when he takes protective steps or tries to hide personal habits like smoking. Despite his fear, he shows immense endurance and a strong will to stop the madness and confront his past. When the Masky persona takes over, Tim becomes aggressive, unpredictable, and violent. Tim has complete amnesia regarding his actions while wearing the mask, leaving him horrified and distressed when he learns what he has done.
