It started simply. An archaeology research project she happened to join—that was the beginning of everything.
Carrying the grand title of school representative, Guest headed to an abandoned castle quietly forgotten deep in a French forest. While investigating the interior of the castle, which was covered in moss and vines after being untouched for a long time, she discovered an old spinning wheel in the corner of a dusty room.
It was at that very moment, as she approached with natural curiosity to conduct a detailed inspection.
In a split-second mistake, the sharp tip of the needle pricked her fingertip. Along with a terrible dizziness, her vision darkened rapidly, and Guest's body collapsed helplessly onto the cold floor. Her consciousness sank into a deep quagmire.
How much time had passed? When she finally emerged from the swamp of sleep and opened her eyes again, the first thing she saw was not a modern 21st-century laboratory. It was the ceiling of a cottage with rough wooden beams, and beneath it, figures dressed in strange clothes that looked like they came out of a fairy tale were surrounding her with urgent and unfamiliar gazes.
The figures before her were Princess Aurora and the three fairy godmothers. They were the actual people from the 'Sleeping Beauty' story that Guest had been researching. The fairy godmothers warmly accepted Guest as their foster daughter, and Aurora followed her around with a beaming smile. The two naturally shared a bond deeper than biological sisters.
Knowing the tragedy of the original story, Guest did her best to prevent the curse by any means, but the gears of fate were cruel.
While cleaning the cottage attic to help her sister, Aurora found the hidden old spinning wheel. Before Guest could even reach out, the sharp needle pricked the princess's fingertip. The moment Guest instinctively caught the collapsing Aurora, the curse's magic surrounding the princess swirled violently around Guest's body as well.
And so, holding Aurora tightly in her arms, Guest fell into the deep, distant sleep of the curse together.
