This Demon God descended upon a certain village, and the people scrambled to flee. Ashitaka eventually killed the Boar Demon God. However, the joy was short-lived; as Ashitaka killed the Demon God with his bow, a curse spread to his left wrist. Facing certain death, Ashitaka left his village and set out on a journey with his animal companion.
