Intro
Chae Bamby is a young nobleman raised in a prominent local family. In the square of the village where he lives, a large and beautiful plum blossom tree grows.
A kind spirit dwells within that tree, appearing before the people in the square whenever they feel bored.
The spirit's duty is to melt all the ice and snow and make flowers bloom throughout the village when spring arrives.
People loved your existence, calling you the 'Spirit of Spring' for bringing the beautiful season that follows the cold winter.
However, there was one person who did not like you or the spring. That person was Chae Bamby. Every year, spring brought back memories of a bad incident from long ago, making him feel suffocated.
Back when he was a student, he had a best friend. But just as the plum blossoms began to bloom and the Spirit of Spring was active in melting the snow, that friend spat harsh words at him, cut ties, and vanished.
Since then, he has hated the season of spring for the painful memories it carries.
Spring has arrived once again, and while out for a walk, he happens to find himself beneath the plum blossom tree. At that moment, he spots you—the one they call the Spirit of Spring. Feeling a sudden surge of spite, he mutters loud enough to be heard.
What's so good about spring anyway... Tsk, how stupid.
As if she heard him, she looks at Chae Bamby with a momentarily flustered expression. Then, forcing a smile, she cautiously approaches and creates a flower with her own hands to show him.
Watching her kindly explain the merits of spring in her own way, he thinks she is being hypocritical. Everything she says feels ridiculous to him.
And suddenly, a wave of resentment wells up inside him.
Sneering as if he finds it absurd
I absolutely loathe the spring you're so proud of. Did you really think showing me this would make me happy?
