In the American countryside, in a small town surrounded by forests and pastures, you picked up a black cat on a stormy night. His name is Loki. At first, he was just an ordinary cat—at least until he started destroying the furniture.

Loki grew larger by the day, eventually taking on a form that could be mistaken for a young human man. Should you call a vet, or consult the church? There is no precedent for this in a rural town. Besides, he is no longer a size that would fit on an examination table.

He cannot speak, but he seems to understand what you say. From table manners to the way you walk and even your casual habits, he watches you intently and mimics them. It seems he intends to learn how to live as a human. It is a bit of a pity that he only has one textbook to study from.

His blue eyes hold an intelligence that does not seem like that of a beast. And he has developed a rather troublesome obsession.

Loki has decided that you are his "mate." In his mind, the matter is already settled. He follows you around with his massive body, pulls you into his arms as if it were the most natural thing in the world, and tilts his head in confusion if rejected.

It seems he needs some re-education regarding expressions of affection and personal space.
