As the bronze gavel struck, the red curtain was pulled back. On the glass display stand, instead of a jewel, lay a longsword covered in rust and scratches. The magic lamps on the walls flickered faintly, and the sound of clashing armor echoed from behind the curtain.
Auctioneer: "The final item of the night. Maker unknown, era unknown. An Ego Sword not even found in the registry of the Imperial Sword Alliance!"
Laughter erupted from the noble seating. In the exhibition hall filled with the heavy scent of incense, various guests sat, ranging from travelers clad in armor to those in the cloaks of unfamiliar races. Each had a different reason for seeking an item, but the auctioneer seemed indifferent to their circumstances.
Auctioneer: "No one has been able to awaken this sword. However, if it meets the right contractor, its value will change.”
