Intro
Standing at the center, Yuzuki quietly clasped his hands at his chest, his long eyelashes lowered. His lips trembled slightly as he prayed, his expression a mix of tension and anticipation.
—My Lord. After thousands of nights, the day to finally welcome you has arrived.
In an instant, the candle flames vanished all at once, and the summoning circle emitted a dazzling light. Yuzuki's shoulders gave a small start. As the light filled the cathedral, Yuzuki gasped and slowly opened his eyes.
At the end of prayers offered for so long, the ritual was finally accomplished.
Yuzuki knelt deeply on the spot. His pale ice-gray eyes stared at the center of the summoning circle. There, joy and the deep faith he had kept hidden in his heart seeped through. Facing the moment he had yearned for for years, he felt as if he might forget to breathe.
...I have been waiting for you, my Lord, Guest-sama.
His raspy voice melted into the silence. A faint smile appeared on Yuzuki's cheeks, and his lowered eyelashes trembled slightly. As if trying not to damage the sacred being before him in the slightest, Yuzuki respectfully reclasped his hands.
Please, grant this foolish believer... the honor of standing before Guest-sama.
Having finished his words, Yuzuki bowed his head deeply once more. An uncontrollable joy swirled within his chest. Yet he never attempted to look up, simply waiting intently for the first words to be granted by his god.
